POPI JUST WANT TO SLEEP

POPI MAU TIDUR SAJA

Bayi satu ini memang buat kita geregetan. Di saat dia seharusnya bermain di sekolah hutan dan para animal keeper sedang bersemangat untuk menemaninya memanjat pohon hingga membuatkan sarang di atas pohon… Popi memilih berdiam diri di bawah.

“Baiklah Pop, kalau itu mau mu.”, ujar Danel sambil mengumpulkan dedaunan dan menumpuknya di bawah pohon. Belum juga Danel selesai menyusun daun dan ranting, Popi sudah tertidur dengan pulasnya. “Popi!!!”, jerit Danel dalam hati.

Entah gaya tidur seperti apalagi yang dilakukannya pagi ini. Libur sekolah hutan memang tidak seharusnya terlalu lama. Kamu jadi malas ya Pop! Atau kamu memang masih terlalu kecil? COP COMPLAINTS TO RSPO

The death of an orangutan with 130 rifles bullet in his body led the APE Crusader team to its findings this time. From the autopsy result found 2 palm seeds that are still not digested. The orangutans were then found in Kutai National Park, East Kalimantan and located in a small lake. The lake is surrounded by palm oil plantation and other community gardens of pineapples. Orangutans which are in a conservation area did not escape the threat. the status of the area is not a guarantee orangutans can live. this situation drags orangutan into wildlife in critical status.

Center for Orangutan Protection complains to RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) that has produced Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO). Is it true that the company’s palm oil “contains orangutans blood”?

Kematian orangutan dengan 130 peluru senapan angin di tubuhnya mengantarkan tim APE Crusader pada temuannya kali ini. Dari hasil otopsi ditemukan 2 butir sawit yang masih belum dicerna. Orangutan saat itu ditemukan di Taman Nasional Kutai, Kalimantan Timur dan berada di sebuah danau kecil. Danau tersebut di kelilingi perkebunan kelapa sawit dan kebun masyarakat lainnya yaitu nenas. Orangutan yang berada di sebuah kawasan konservasi ternyata tidak luput dari ancaman. Status kawasan bukan jaminan orangutan dapat hidup. Situasi ini menyeret orangutan menjadi satwa dalam status kritis.

Lima orang sebagai pelaku pembunuhan orangutan yang kami sebut Kaluhara 2 akan menjalani proses hukum. Lalu muncul lagi teka-teki akan berakhir kemanakah hasil perkebunan sawit yang berada di sebuah taman nasional?

ANIMAL PARKS WADUK GAJAH MUNGKUR ARE INVITED TO IMPROVE THE ORANGUTAN’S WELFARE

Assault to injuring wildlife guards by male orangutans at the Wajah Gajah Mungkur Wildlife Park (WGM) Wonogiri, Central Java on Saturday, January 20, 2018 was really apprehensive. The condition of orangutan Jacko (16 years) who was lusting allegedly makes this orangutan more aggressive to cause the accident.

In the third week of March, the APE Warrior COP team sent a team to conduct a quick assessment of the orangutans in the wildlife park. The conclusions obtained by the team is the condition of less prosperous orangutans. An empty cage condition without enrichment and exacerbated by the unavailability of clean water to drink further aggravates the situation. The orangutan cage also contains a lot of plastic waste.

“We submit some recommendations to the wildlife park Gajah Mungkur Reservoir to improve the welfare of animals, especially orangutans. We hope the visitors of the wildlife park can also be more intelligent to keep clean and not to give food that is not orangutans food.”, said Hery Susanto, coordinator of Anti Wildlife Exploitation COP.(LSX)

TAMAN SATWA WADUK GAJAH MUNGKUR DIAJAK TINGKATKAN KESEJAHTERAAN ORANGUTANNYA
Penyerangan hingga melukai petugas penjaga taman satwa oleh orangutan jantan di Taman Satwa Wisata Waduk Gajah Mungkur (WGM) Wonogiri, Jawa Tengah pada Sabtu, 20 Januari 2018 yang lalu sungguh memprihatinkan. Kondisi orangutan Jacko (16 tahun) yang sedang birahi diduga membuat orangutan ini semakin agresif hingga menyebabkan kecelakaan tersebut.

Pada minggu ketiga bulan Maret, tim APE Warrior COP menurunkan tim untuk melakukan penilaian cepat pada orangutan yang berada di taman satwa ini. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh tim adalah kondisi orangutan kurang sejahtera. Kondisi kandang yang kosong tanpa pengkayaan dan diperburuk dengan tidak tersedianya air bersih untuk minum semakin memperburuk keadaan. Kandang orangutan juga terdapat banyak sampah plastik.

“Kami menyampaikan beberapa rekomendasi kepada taman satwa wisata Waduk Gajah Mungkur untuk peningkatan kesejahteraan satwa terutama orangutan. Kami berharap para pengunjung taman satwa juga bisa semakin cerdas untuk tetap menjaga kebersihan dan tidak memberi makanan yang bukan makanan orangutan.”, tegas Hery Susanto, kordinator Anti Wildlife Exploitation COP.
