THE SECOND TRIAL OF ORANGUTAN DEATH CASE WITH 130 BULLETS

The case of orangutan death with 130 bullets in his body has entered the second trial. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Sangatta District Court, East Kalimantan session with the agenda of listening to the testimony of expert witnesses presents drh. Felisitas Flora S.M from Center for Orangutan Protection and Yoyok Sugianto from BKSDA Kaltim.

The autopsy of orangutans on 6 February 2018 ensured that orangutans were male of 5-7 years old. From the results of x-rays found 74 bullets on the head, 9 bullets in the right hand, 14 bullets in the left hand, 10 bullets on the right leg, 6 bullets on the left leg and 17 bullets on the chest. But the autopsy team was only able to remove 48 bullets air rifle.

“This is the largest number of orangutan cases ever. The easy possession of this air gun is one of the causes of wildlife being the target of air rifle brutality. Terror air rifle occurs anywhere. The bullet of the air rifle is not directly deadly, but if the numbers are so much ends up making the orangutans helpless.”, said Ramadhani, manager of orangutan protection and habitat COP.

The orangutan is also shot in the area where it should be protected. Kutai National Park with the status of conservation area still can not protect wild animals protected by Law No. 5 of 1990. The four suspects will still undergo a follow-up trial which will be held next week with the agenda to hear the information of the suspect. (LSX)

Teror senapan angin terjadi dimana saja.

(REZ)

HERCULES LOOKS RENOVATED THE OLD NEST

It was already a month that Hercules inhabited the orangutan island alone. Without the greater and dominant Ambon orangutan, Hercules becomes more freely exploring the island. Exciting news from the development of Hercules. Hercules is seen fixing the old nest of former the orangutan Novi.

“Shortly after Hercules was busy in the old nest of Novi, the day became dark. And Hercules is still there and immobile. Chances are he really slept in this nest.”, Inoy said while watching the island from the camp monitor.

“This is exciting news. A good start for the development of Hercules. That hope never broke, we in COP Borneo became more excited again. That nothing is impossible!.”, said Reza Kurniawan, manager of COP Borneo rehabilitation center.

Hercules is a male orangutan from the zoo, precisely Botanical Garden Unmul Samarinda/ KRUS. In 2010, Hercules was a very naughty orangutan who repeatedly came out of the cage without the iron bars/ enclosures to eat from the stalls. His large body could have scared the other animal keeper. But the development of Hercules is like quitting, the orangutan whose age are growing more rapidly in line with their survival abilities. Like making nests, climbing, looking for natural food and even survive by fighting with other orangutans. Other orangutans, who previously inhabited the orangutan island along with Hercules are undergoing quarantine period for reintroduction back into their habitat. While Hercules is left behind because of its survival ability is considered not fulfilling the pre-release prerequisites. “Now, we can return to hope, Hercules also have hope to return to their habitat.”, Inoy said with enthusiasm. HERCULES TERLIHAT RENOVASI SARANG LAMA

COP BORNEO NEED HANDY TALKIE

Smart phones have mushroomed into the primary needs that will always be prioritize to travel anywhere. Office, shop, beach or to the place of a girlfriend. Even for some people, prefer to miss his wallet than missed his smart phone. The needs of the function of the smart phone itself is considered very important in maintaining communication in the work sector and personal life. Almost all things can be done with smart phones like SMS, talk, watch TV, edit photos or even video to work on reports. Communication is the most important thing for life now. This all depends on the availability of telephone and internet signals. So what about the fate of the people who live in the forest?

The absence of signals makes the smart phone function less than 50%. Smart phones only serve to be cameras, listening to music, playing games and typing reports. For people living in the forest and without signal, human-to-human conflicts are particularly vulnerable, due to frequent miscommunication among them. We can only communicate at close range. If different locations, can only convey messages through friends who will meet with the person. “To immediately shout? Wow … impossible because of a considerable distance.”, said Reza Kurniawan, manager of COP Borneo. “This is quite a hindrance to the work, because they have to wait for each other waiting.”, he added.

In the near future, COP Borneo will release 2 of the best orangutan individuals. There will be 2 release location points with 2 monitoring teams. Handy Talkie will be one vital thing to launch this activity. Help us through KITABISA

COP BORNEO MEMBUTUHKAN HT

Bantu kami yuk lewat https://kitabisa.com/orangindo4orangutan
