SOUND FOR ORANGUTAN MELBOURNE

February 6 at Rubix, Melbourne, Hardi Baktiantoro (COP Principle) talked about the general work that The Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP) do all over Indonesia and Vet Imam Arifin’s presentation showed the progress so far of the Orangutan Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre COP were building in Labanan, East Kalimantan.
COP would like to thank all who came and supported the Melbourne SOUND for ORANGUTAN, SAVE the ORANGUTANS Fundraiser to help us help orangutans, and big thanks to all the DJ’s, Lighting Talent & Tech Talent who donated their amazing skills, the venue and the biggest thank you to Lukey from Universal Tribe Records and Bev from With Compassion & Soul.

THEM , AFTER COP SCHOOL

Elizabeth, Syaifulloh and Satria are alumni of COP School Batch #1. Along with Alivia, which is an alumni of COP School Batch #5, they are currently attending a training on Enrichment Facility to Improve Animal Welfare held by BOS Foundation. Now they run the Animal Rescue Center in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan .

Meanwhile, veterinarian Ade Fitria, an alumni of COP School Batch #2 is attending a training on Animals Eye Treatment on IAR ORANGUTAN Rescue Center in Ketapang. Her colleague, Paulinus, an alumni of Batch #1 is currently in Japan to meet up with the supporters and to present about forest protection from fire and palm oil .

MEREKA, SETELAH COP SCHOOL

Elizabeth, Syaifulloh dan Satria adalah siswa COP School Batch 1, bersama Alivia yang merupakan siswa COP School Batch #5 saat ini sedang mengikuti pelatihan Pengkayaan Fasilitas untuk Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Satwa di Yayasan BOS. Mereka adalah para alumni COP School yang sekarang mengelola Pusat Penyelamatan Satwa di Sumatra Selatan dan Kalimantan Timur.

Sementara itu, dokter hewan Ade Fitria siswa COP School Batch #2 sedang berada di Pusat Penyelamatan ORANGUTAN IAR di Ketapang untuk menjalani pelatihan Pengobatan Mata Satwa. Rekannya yang lain, PAULINUS siswa COP School Batch #1 sedang berada di Jepang untuk bertemu dengan para pendukung dan mempresentasikan perlindungan hutan dari kelapa sawit dan kebakaran.

ONE WORLD FESTIVAL JAPAN

2015 was the year that Kalimantan burned. The airports of five Kalimantan provinces were almost completely out of action. The COP Borneo Rehabilitation Centre was on standby. Centre for Orangutan Protection even stepped in to help extinguish fires at Wein River, East Kalimantan, and alongside Hutan Group with the Friends of the National Parks Foundation, in Tanjung Puting National Park, Central Kalimantan.

In the annual event One World Festival in Osaka, Japan, COP and Hutan Group had the opportunity to speak about the fires that had engulfed the whole of Kalimantan, on the 6th and 7th of February 2016. In addition, Hutan Group also made efforts during the event to raise funds and campaign for the protection of natural forests from Palm oil and fires.

Tahun 2015 adalah tahun dimana Kalimantan terbakar. Bandara lima provinsi Kalimantan hampir lumpuh total. Pusat Rehabilitasi COP Borneo siaga. Centre for Orangutan Protection pun turut membantu memadamkan kebakaran di sungai Wein, Kalimantan Timur dan bersama Hutan Group dengan FNPF di Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting, Kalimantan Tengah.

Pada kegiatan tahunan, One World Festival di Osaka, Jepang, COP dan Hutan Group berkesempatan menceritakan kebakaran yang melanda Kalimantan keseluruhan pada tanggal 6 dan 7 Februari 2016. Selain itu HUTAN Group berusaha menggalang dana sekaligus mengkampanyekan perlindungan hutan dari kelapa sawit dan kebakaran di acara tahunan itu.
