GET WELL SOON LECI
Orangutan Leci was evacuated by APE Defender (rapid response team of COP) from Kebon Agung Village, Sangatta, East Kutai, East Kalimantan on April 3, 2016. Leci was found by a farmer in a farm, separated from its mother. Orangutans get to the farms because the forest has been cleared for oil palm plantations.
Just like other ordinary kid, May 12, 2016 orangutan Leci also needs to be treated at the clinic of COP Borneo because of fever. Fortunately, Leci still has a will to eat so she does not need an IV. Get well soon, Leci.. hopefully the quarantine period will end very soon.

Orangutan Leci adalah orangutan yang dievakuasi APE Defender (tim gerak cepat COP) dari desa Kebon Agung, Sangatta, Kutai Timur, Kalimantan Timur pada 3 April 2016 yang lalu. Leci ditemukan seorang petani di kebunnya sendirian, terpisah dari induknya. Orangutan terpaksa mendatangi kebun masyarakat karena hutan sebagai habitatnya habis dibabat untuk perkebunan kelapa sawit. #conflictpalmoil
Seperti anak kecil pada umumnya, saat ini 12 Mei 2016, orangutan Leci pun harus dirawat di klinik COP Borneo karena demam. Untungnya, Leci masih semangat untuk makan sehingga tidak perlu diinfus. Animal keeper dan paramedis menjadi ibu penggantinya. Cepat pulih ya Leci… semoga masa karantina cepat berakhir.
