PINGPONG BACK TO THE FOREST SCHOOL

Pingpong’s condition of being malnourished while on the orangutan island forced him to return to his cage. Pingpong is closely monitored by veterinarians of the COP Borneo orangutan rehabilitation center.

It turned out that the withdrawal also made Pingpong do repetitive movements as a sign that an animal begins to experience depression. The APE Defender team quickly acted by scheduling Pingpong to return to forest school class.

“After undergoing treatment for malnutrition, Pingpong was taken to forest school. Unfortunately, Pingpong still prefers to approach animal nurse hammocks who are watching him. It is indeed not easy to rehabilitate orangutans from zoos that are very familiar with the presence of humans, “said Reza Kurniawan, COP primate anthropologist. (EBO)
