
ALOUISE’S MEDICAL EXAMINATION

It’s been ten days now since the COP Borneo medical team conducted a medical check-up (MCU) on the orangutan from the village of Selabing, East Kalimantan. Examination of herpes, hepatitis and HIV and faecal culture was carried out after Alouise underwent a period of quarantine and adaptation at the COP Borneo clinic.

PEMERIKSAAN KESEHATAN ORANGUTAN ALOUISE
Beratnya tak sampai 5 kg tepatnya 4,3 kg. Dari gigi-giginya yang telah tumbuh diperkirakan usianya 1 tahun. Dia adalah bayi orangutan jantan bernama Alouise. Bayi orangutan yang baru saja masuk pusat rehabilitasi orangutan COP Borneo pada 9 Maret yang lalu.
Selang sepuluh hari kemudian, tim medis COP Borneo melakukan medical check up (MCU) pada orangutan yang berasal dari desa Selabing, Kalimantan Timur. Pemeriksaan penyakit herpes, hepatitis dan hiv serta kultur feses pun dilakukan setelah Alouise menjalani masa karantina dan adaptasi di klinik COP Borneo.
“Kami berharap, hasil medis Alouise baik agar bisa mengikuti kelas sekolah hutan. Tim juga memasang microchip serta pengambilan data pengukuran tubuh serta sidik jari.”, kata drh. Felisitas Flora usai pemeriksaan. (FLO)
