BONTI, FOREST SCHOOL CLASS WINNER OF MARCH 2018

Perhaps Bonti’s fear of the animal keeper makes Bonti the orangutans up on the tree. “We did force the to stay on the tree. Forcing them to play, eat or rest on the tree. Rattan thorns will soon land on the bodies of these little orangutans, if they come down from the trees, not in time.”, Says Amir Aryadi, animal keeper COP Borneo. “Sad anyway… but orangutans are aboreal animals. Most of the activities are in trees. Our dream, for these orangutans can go back to the forest and survive there. The forest is their home.”, Amir continued.
Three-moths report is out. Bonti manages to surpasses Happi. Bonti is getting better at making nests. The average height of the nest he made was on the 20 meters high. In a day, Bonti smart to find food in the forest school. He always looked at the leaves he has gathered. He allso did not hesistate to bite the bark of a tree, put his hand into the hole in the tree and scraped the rotting wood.

BONTI, JUARA KELAS SEKOLAH HUTAN MARET 2018
Ini dia Bonti yang perkembangannya sangat pesat sejak awal 2018 ini. Bonti yang biasanya hanya bisa mengikuti semua prilaku Owi kini tak bisa dianggap remeh lagi. Bahkan Owi hingga saat ini belum bisa membuat sarang, tertarik membuatnya saja tidak.
Mungkin ketakutan Bonti pada animal keeper membuat orangutan Bonti terpacu untuk terus berada di atas pohon. “Kami memang memaksa mereka untuk terus berada di atas pohon. Memaksa mereka bermain, makan ataupun istirahat di atas pohon. Duri rotan akan segera mendarat di tubuh orangutan-orangutan kecil ini, jika mereka turun dari pohon, tidak pada waktunya.”, cerita Amir Aryadi, animal keeper COP Borneo. “Sedih sih… tapi orangutan itu satwa aboreal. Sebagian besar aktivitasnya ya di pohon. Mimpi kami, orangutan-orangutan ini bisa kembali ke hutan dan bertahan hidup di sana. Hutan adalah rumah mereka.”, lanjut Amir lagi.
Rapor tiga bulanan sudah keluar. Bonti berhasil melampaui Happi. Bonti semakin mahir membuat sarang. Rata-rata ketinggian sarang yang dibuatnya adalah 20 meter. Dalam sehari, dia bisa membuat dua buah sarang. Tak hanya itu, Bonti pintar mencari makanan di sekolah hutan. Dia terlihat selalu mencoba daun-daun yang berhasil diraihnya. Dia juga tak ragu-ragu menggigiti kulit pohon, memasukkan tangannya ke dalam lubang di pohon dan mengorek-ngorek kayu lapuk.
