ACICIS NGO FAIR YOGYAKARTA

Our first exhibition for the 2016 year, on invitation by the Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS). The NGO fair held on Thursday the 4th of February, in the ex-parking area of Cultural Sciences Faculty at Gadjah Mada University, was bustling with visitors. They came up and registered as new members of the COP supporter group, Orangufriends.
These are the supporters who have 1001 ideas for raising funds to support the work of COP. From music events such as Sound for Orangutan, to Art for Orangutan, Cooking for Orangutan, Futsal for Orangutan, and many more.
Visitors took advantage of the exhibition to get to know more about Centre for Orangutan Protection and buy merchandise.

Pameran pertama di tahun 2016 ini, memenuhi undangan The Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS). Kamis, 4 Februari, Ex-Lapangan Parkir Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Gadjah Mada menjadi ramai dengan pengunjung. Mereka datang dan mendaftar menjadi anggota kelompok pendukung COP yaitu Orangufriends. Para pendukung yang mempunyai seribu satu ide mencari dana yang dapat digunakan untuk mendukung kegiatan COP. Mulai dari acara musik amal Sound for Orangutan, Art for Orangutan, Cooking for Orangutan, Futsal for Orangutan dan masih banyak lainnya. Pengunjung memanfaatkan acara ini untuk lebih mengenal Centre for Orangutan Protection dan membeli merchandise.
Terimakasih Orangufriends Yogya yang menjadikan meja COP lebih menarik.

A BEAR CUB SAVED FROM ILLEGAL WILDLIFE TRADE

COP applaud Bali Wildlife Authority for rapidly response our report. A bear cub have saved from illegal wildlife trade. During 2015, COP saved 4 orangutan babies and another 78 wildlife, including bears and clouded leopard from black market. Wildlife trade is one of the main threat for Indonesian wildlife. According to Interpol, this illicit business is biggest one after drug trade and then weapons.

FUN RAFTING FOR ORANGUTAN

No idea where to go for vacation? Let’s join orangufriends’ activity! They always have creative ideas to help Orangutans! Yes, this is one of many ways to raise fund for COP Borneo! COP Borneo is an Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in Labanan, East Borneo. There are 16 Orangutan which are being rehabilitated and need financial support. You can help them just by taking part in Fun Rafting for Orangutan on February 21, 2016 at Elo River. “This is an easy and fun way to help Orangutans,” said Zakia, Orangufriends coordinator. Bingung mau liburan kemana? Nyobain acara kreatifnya orangufriends Yogyakarta yang merupakan siswa COP School. Ide mereka itu ngak pernah ada habisnya. Apa saja yang bisa mereka bantu, mereka akan segera bergerak. Ya, ini adalah salah satu acara untuk mencari dana untuk COP Borneo. COP Borneo adalah nama pusat rehabilitasi orangutan di Labanan, Kalimantan Timur. Pusat yang saat ini dihuni 16 orangutan, masih memerlukan dukungan dana dari semua pihak.
Jadi liburan kali ini diisi dengan berarung jeram ya. 21 Februari di sungai Elo, Magelang, Jawa Tengah. “Cara mudah dan menyenangkan membantu Orangutan.”, ujar Zakia, koordinator Orangufriends.
