REST IN PEACE MR. TORAN APUI

Centre for Orangutan Protection team in orangutan rehab center COP Borneo, East Borneo is in grief. A father who has always been a place of comfort, tell stories, and ask for advice is gone. On Wednesday night, July 11, 2018, we received a sad news that Sir Toran Apui had passed away because of the illness he suffered for the past weeks.

Toran Apui is the elder of Merasa village who was very helpfull to COP team back in 2014, the first time COP Borneo orangutan rehab center built in Merasa village, Berau, East Borneo. “Good bye, SIr. We who work and volunteer at COP Borneo will miss how determined you were when telling the story of Dayakness life around Kelay river stream in the past accompanied with a glass of coffee and peanuts.”

Hopefully, we can continue the determination of Toran Apui to bring Merasa village forward.

SELAMAT JALAN TORAN APUI
