ANNIE’S SECOND DAY AT FOREST SCHOOL
Do not know, then do not love. But the first look can also make us fall in love or not. Maybe that’s the way with the newcomer COP Borneo, Annie. Perhaps this is the first time to see other orangutans after three years of living with humans. Perhaps also his fading memory of his mother made him challenge Happi when he first met. It’s sad to imagine what happened three years ago, when Annie had to be separated from his mother forever.
Annie a 4-year-old male orangutan, for the first time attending a COP Borneo forest school class on May 28, 2018. Annie strikes Happi on the first day of school, and during the day, Annie is oppressed by Happi and Owi, until he gives up and dares not be far from animal keeper who always tried to protect Annie from the two male orangutans who first entered the forest school class. The ability to climb no more than 3 meters. Perhaps this is the highest climbing of Annie after parting with his mother.
The oppression of new students is not continuous. After the first day of the evaluation, the COP Borneo orangutan rehabilitation team decided to keep Annie to a forest school with Happi and Owi. Of course, the animal keeper will be more alert. “What a surprise. Happi started a good relationship with Annie. HARI KEDUA ANNIE DI SEKOLAH HUTAN
Tak kenal maka tak sayang. Tapi tatapan pertama kali juga bisa membuat kita jatuh cinta atau tidak. Mungkin begitulah yang terjadi dengan si pendatang baru COP Borneo, Annie. Mungkin ini adalah kali pertamanya melihat orangutan lainnya setelah tiga tahun hidup bersama manusia. Mungkin juga ingatannya yang sudah mulai pudar tentang induknya membuat dia menantang Happi saat pertama kali bertemu. Sungguh menyedihkan membayangkan kejadian tiga tahun yang lalu, saat Annie harus terpisah dengan induknya untuk selamanya.
Annie orangutan jantan berusia 4 tahun, untuk pertama kalinya masuk kelas sekolah hutan COP Borneo pada 28 Mei 2018. Annie memukul Happi di hari pertama sekolah, dan sepanjang hari itu pula, Annie ditindas oleh Happi dan Owi, hingga ia menyerah dan tak berani jauh dari animal keeper yang selalu berusaha melindungi Annie dari kedua orangutan jantan yang terlebih dahulu masuk kelas sekolah hutan. Kemampuan memanjatnya tak lebih dari 3 meter. Mungkin ini adalah panjatan tertingginya Annie setelah berpisah dengan induknya.
Penindasan pada siswa baru tak terus menerus berlangsung. Setelah di hari pertama evaluasi, tim pusat rehabilitasi orangutan COP Borneo memutuskan untuk tetap membawa Annie ke sekolah hutan bersama Happi dan Owi. Tentu saja, animal keeper akan lebih waspada lagi. “Sungguh mengejutkan. Happi mulai menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan Annie. Mereka bertatapan dan memanjat pohon yang sama.”, ujar Wety Rupiana sembari mencatat di buku sekolah hutan khusus Annie. “Ternyata kemaren adalah hari perkenalan.”, tambah Wety lega. (WET)
