LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATION IN LABANAN RESEARCH FOREST
Centre for Orangutan Protection applaud the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for enforcing the law to protect Labanan Research Forest. Illegal logging is the main threat to the forest where we run our rehabilitation program. 5 people arrested in an operation recently alongside with 1 truck and 3 motorbikes. The SPORC Forest Rangers also confiscated 7 cubics of timber. Our team also burnt the logger’s camp.
